The trip was doable without a vehicle but would have had a chance to do more if we had a car. The only 3 restaurants in town closed very early and the food choices were limited at the hotel. We did not stay long enough to explore the beach property but would differently like to return and add that to our list of things to due.

Such kind and friendly people everywhere we went. 2 well stocked grocery stores, art galleries, shops all within short walking distance. Laid back vibe. Definitely would stay in Lanai City and not the big resort at the beach. Be sure to call to confirm you have a jeep reserved from the only place in town. If you are an animal lover don’t miss the Lanai cat sanctuary.

The most friendly isle I have ever been to!

The most friendly isle I have ever been to! People wave at each other when driving by and don't be surprise when strangers tell you "Hi!" like they know you! It is a small town with no Starbucks or Mcdonalds. It was a perfect place to get away from everything and have my kids enjoy "Hawaii". Our favorite place to visit was the Lanai Cat Sanctuary, it was enjoyable for the whole family! It's free to play with all the cats so bring some kitty treats, toys, or some $ for the donation box and help support this wonderful organization. If you love animals, don't forget to visit the mini horses too! We bought some carrots from Pine Market and drove to the ranch to feed the horses. The horses and donkeys will run right up to you when they see the carrots in your hand. My kids really enjoyed feeding them!

Lanai is a great location if you are just looking to relax and enjoy nature. It's not super touristy. Most the locals were surprised that we were staying for 6 days. People often do day trips from Maui. Lanai City has a few nice restaurants and markets and a good coffee shop. You'll need to rent a 4 wheel drive car/jeep if you want to get around to most of the sights on the island. The cultural center has a free app called Lanai Guide that is critical for finding historical spots and natural beauty. You'll need the map feature to find most of the roads which are unmarked and dirt paths. Great stay for the adventurer/explorer!

It is quiet, clean and friendly and offers a very mellow and slow pace. The people are very friendly and it is beautiful and serene. If you want to go explore the island you definitely need to rent a car and the best would be to rent a 4x4. I think the island offers some cool trails to hike or even better yet bike but you need a car to get to them. There is not much to do in Lana’i city so it’s ideal if you are just looking for a quiet getaway for a night or two. We liked the restaurant and bar and it offers great drinks and quality food. The experience was not what we expected and it was a nice change of pace from the busier Maui.

Our room was tiny with no windows right next to front desk. Property is over priced but there is no other real competition so your stuck staying there. Breakfast was not well thought out at all, very low effort. I think they can blame it on covid but I think they could have a bit more pride in what they are doing. Room was clean, the automatic toilet is such a silly item in a room that is so small. Also not being close to the beach seems like the cost should be less. I liked Lanai but I would stay at on Molokai next time and skip Lanai.

The facility was outstanding and we are also glad we went up to see sensei, as both are needed to be experienced as they are truly amazing. We love snorkeling on the beach, sitting by the pool, all the restaurant options, playing pool, And both the people we met and the people that worked at the hotel could not have been friendlier. We will be back! Only thing we wish different was the ability to have more availability so we could’ve gone to the observatory

Fully renovated, impeccably designed sleek, modern and warm hotel in the heart of Lanai City. Beautiful property and views onto the lovely gardens surrounding. The luxurious bathroom with Toto high-tech toilet was a nice touch. I travelled solo but this would be a cozy place to visit as a couple. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Lanai City. Highly recommend!

The hotel is stunning! Beautiful views, good restaurants, wonderful spa, stylish design, awesome location etc. We stayed here for a few nights on our honeymoon and it was really perfect. Note that Lana’i is a small island, so you can explore for maybe 1 day (they got us a car for 1 day) but then you will have seen it so you will spend a lot of time in the resort.
